PAKISTAN eMERGENCY FLOOD APPEAL

“We are left with nothing now.”

Widespread flash floods in Pakistan have killed more than 1,000 as a result of the country’s deadliest monsoon seasons yet. The flood has affected more than 33 million Pakistanis – destroying crops, livestock, and nearly a million homes. The recent flooding has been dubbed as the worst flooding in 30 years. “People had built their houses after the flood of 2010. Now all have been submerged in water, and mud houses have been destroyed.”

Right now, victims in Pakistan are in crucial need of emergency aid. Families who were lucky enough to be evacuated have been shifted to displacement camps, while others have taken to living in tents on the side of the road. To make matters worse, authorities have expressed that rescue efforts have been further complicated by the ice-cold waters.

These victims have lost everything - their loved ones, homes and their livelihoods. Many children are at risk of contracting water-borne diseases and are fighting to survive. This is a serious climate catastrophe that requires immediate attention and aid.
