Send assistance to the world's largest refugee camp
A huge blaze has engulfed the shanty settlement, this is the third report of fire to hit the camps in Cox's Bazaar in Bangladesh, causing at least 20,000 Rohingya refugees to flee. Unfortunately, the fire ignited in one of the 34 camps before it spread to three other camps, with refugees salvaging whatever belongings they possess. Thick smoke could be seen in videos across social media.
As part of the emergency efforts, our water tankers - normally used to provide clean drinking water for 6,000 Rohingya refugees every day - are being used to tackle the massive blaze. Our Bangladesh team on the ground has reported that our medical clinic for refugees was engulfed by flames.
Now, thousands of refugee families are left displaced without shelters. Our thoughts and prayers are for all those affected by the tragedy, may Allah keep them safe. Ameen.
Currently, we are in the midst of preparing an emergency response starting with cooked food. You can help the Rohingya refugees today who need your help now more than ever.
