Mosques are at the heart of every Muslim community around the world. They play a pivotal role in education, daily worship and special occasions, serving as a space to build a bond with fellow Muslims. Indeed, the first act of the Prophet (PBUH) upon his arrival in Medina was to build a mosque.
Sadly, many Muslims simply do not have access to a local mosque. Some communities lost their mosques as casualties of conflict or natural disaster, while many rural areas have never had a mosque at all. For them, the long journey to the nearest mosque is difficult, even impossible for the sick and elderly.
