The Syrian refugee crisis has been going on for over 12 years now.
Currently, more than 3 million refugees live in tents along the south of the Turkish border. During winter, these people are deprived of suitable shelters to prevent them from the extreme cold. Many tents have collapsed due to heavy rains and snow.
Many have left their homeland to seek safety in neighbouring Türkiye. As a result, these families have struggled to find places to take shelter due to overcrowding and the lack of essential infrastructure in refugee camps. Many of these families, primarily women and children, live in makeshift dwellings without toilets, running water or electricity.
As conflict and disasters become more frequent, conditions are worsening with over 70% of the refugees living in extreme poverty. Thousands of families are in dire need of humanitarian aid as they struggle to live under harsh conditions.
We aim to help build homes for them in their journey to rebuild their lives, with a large area available where houses, schools, mosques, health centres and shops can be built.
Together with our partners, we’re aiming to build 1000 houses for Syrian refugees, with each house measuring 39 m2 and accommodating two rooms, one washroom, kitchen and a courtyard.
With your support, we aim to:
The result of this project will be a safe home for these vulnerable refugee families. They will be saved from living in tents in the hot summer and cold winter, being protected from natural problems like snow, rain, cold and other extreme weathers.
With a school, mosque, shops, health centre being built, the people living here will have access to a variety of facilities that they require. The shops alone, will be a sustainable development project that will hopefully create a sustainable livelihood for the refugees.
A good home provides protection, children are less at risk of violence and sexual abuse. A home ensures that displaced people have better access to humanitarian aid.
Refugees must be given the opportunity to live in a safe and stable environment, with access to health care, education, job opportunities, and other basic human rights.
