CARE FOR REFUGEES
Care For Syria
Syrian refugees desperately need your help. The death toll is rising and every day thousands of people are being forced to risk their lives and the lives of their family, in order to get to safety.
Thousands of Syrian people have been leaving their own homes due to the ongoing crisis and seeking a safe place, many people have been gathering in the nearby villages on the Syria-Turkey border. However, due to the crippled infrastructure, they are left to live under inhumane conditions without adequate shelter, lack of food, no health services, etc.
Basic foods items are among the most urgent and essential needs of the Syrian people.
You can provide much-needed help now and give nutritious food, essential hygiene items and medical aid.
Global Ehsan Relief and our international NGO partners are on the ground helping the Syrian refugees who are externally displaced. We’re also in neighbouring countries such as Iraq and Turkey, where some 1.8 million refugees are living in makeshift camps and facing a daily battle to survive.
Your support is urgently needed, so please donate now to help Syrian refugees.
More than nine million Syrians have fled during the conflict, which is still ongoing after four long years.
This year alone, over 350,000 people have been so desperate to escape that they have attempted to cross the Mediterranean Sea and get to Europe.
Some 2,000 people are thought to have died at sea so far in 2015.

2. LIVELIHOODS - CARE BAKERIES
With over 10.8 million affected by the current crisis and in need of humanitarian assistance, our international partners have established its first bakery in the suburbs of Aleppo supporting 3000 orphaned families daily who have lost their breadwinner.
The establishment of the "Care Bakeries" in the suburbs of Aleppo (Northern Syria) has had a positive impact on the already very poor suburbs – not only is the bakery providing families with bread packs it is also providing a livelihood for the local community.
In Syria, bread or "Khobez" as it is known is part of the staple diet that millions of Syrians rely on every day.
However, as a result of the current crisis thousands of people do not have the means to purchase their daily requirement of bread and to make matters worse many bakeries have been destroyed as a result of the ongoing conflict
Your support of ONLY $5 A DAY can help to restore an element of normality to their lives despite the ongoing crisis.
Together with our partners we are looking to establish a second bakery in the northern region of Syria supporting a vast number of families as well as providing a job for 20 staff from the Syrian IDP community.
We sponsored the bakery for two months with 100 tonnes of flour. This in turn made 60,000 bread packs that weigh approximately 1 kg each. These bread packs last a family of five for two days. 25,000 families were supported throughout the duration of this project.

3. EDUCATION - CARE SCHOOLS/BACK TO SCHOOL
Statistics show that over 2,960 schools have been destroyed and many others are being used by refugees and displaced people.
We seek to lead the way in delivering development programmes through education and vocational training to restore stability to the lives of Syrians and give them the support to lead their own lives.
Two schools were established : the first one in Haas – Syria, catering for 250 pupils and another in Kumlu – Turkey which caters for 350 pupils.
The "Care Schools" is a non-profit project dependent on donations. We will provide the compulsory education for students aged 6 to 16 which is years 1 – 9 for the period of the academic year. The education provided will be complemented with a psychosocial and enriched extra-curriculum activities programme to support their academic progress and personal development.
Our aim this academic year, is to expand this successful experience and open five more schools for up to 1,750 children as well as providing jobs for over 100 qualified members of staff from the Syrian IDPs or refugees.
Donating a small amount of $1 A DAY will not only provide a child with education but will also change the lives of many generations to come.
We believe that every Syrian child has a right to basic education but in parts of Syria as a result of the current crisis, many have been denied this right.
Hundreds of thousands of children have not been attending school for the last three years.
Back to School Project:
Children are the foundation of a healthy society, but with the conflict entering its fifth year in Syria, the situation for 5.6 million children inside the country is desperate. This included the 2 million children who are living in rural areas that are cut off from humanitarian assistance. There are some 2.6 million Syrian children are still out of school, and waiting for someone to step forward and help them back into school.
We have currently set up a school in Kumlu Turkey, four schools inside Syria and one underground bunker school in Hass. Each school caters up to 300 pupils and works on a double shift basis, but we need your help to help the children continue their education, and help more children back into education.
While we cannot take the children away from the conflict, you can help rebuild their future by sponsoring them back to school.
Join us to send children back to school, and help build a better future!
What can I do?
Build a School
Pledge to build a school inside Syria. Just $35,000 is all that is needed!

4. MILK FOR CHILDREN APPEAL
Over the past two years, the people of Syria have been finding it increasingly hard to provide for their families and children. With many directly affected by the conflict and many internally displaced, means to provide these types of sustenance’s are now scarce and many children are suffering from malnutrition.
Aid agencies have been distributing food baskets, yet milk which is a vital source of nutrition for children has not been catered for in the food baskets. Milk is a number one need for these families and especially for the children as it contains essential protein, vitamins and minerals including calcium, fat and carbohydrates to help build their bodies.
With many families displaced and affected in Syria, there are no means for the breadwinner to provide milk for their children. Global Ehsan Relief together with our partners Human Care Syria plans on distributing 50 tonnes of milk in Idlib, Aleppo, Lattakia and Homs after an initial small scale distribution. Our fundraising efforts have been via an online campaign, community fundraising events and partner sponsorships.
So far we have raised $12,798 and we need your support to raise more.
With $30 a month (or just $1 a day), you will provide a child with the basic provisions for one month. So please, get involved and support this appeal.

5. MEDICAL RELIEF KITS
In a fleeting instant, everything can change: disasters strike without warning and very quickly hundreds of thousands can be caught in the grip of an emergency. Together with our international partners, we have been addressing the medical situation in Syria by delivering Medical Relief Kits to help families and individuals survive during these desperate times.
In emergencies like in Syria, the most vulnerable families need urgent relief without delay. That is what we do: we work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people as a result of the current crisis.
GER and our partners are working alongside our team of British doctors who have distributed medical kits and provided training inside Syria to administer these packs in an emergency situation.
Each Medical Relief Kit includes: 1 Celox Powder, Trauma fix dressing, 1 Chest Seal, 1 Tourniquet, 1 Atropin injection, 3 Sterile dressings and 1 Medical Bag.
These kits have be distributed in Deir Ezzour, Raqqa, Aleppo and Idlib and are at the disposal of up to 100 individuals per neighbourhood. We distribute these medical relief kits in remote areas where access to field hospitals is either limited or restricted. These kits are used to save lives which would otherwise be lost in the space between transporting the victim to be treated in a field hospital.

6. BIRTH CAMPAIGN - SUPPORTING SYRIAN MOTHERS & BABIES
Birth Campaign : SUPPORTING SYRIAN MOTHERS & BABIES
For Syrian families already struggling against the hardships they face as refugees, the arrival of a new-born is not only a time of joy but also concern.
Many – especially those in unofficial refugee camps – face shortages of the essentials of life including food, water and shelter.
With little or no financial support and the lack of medical facilities, the birth of a child not only places additional burdens on a family but brings with it the risk of endangering the baby’s life and that of the mother.
Even for those who are in refugee camps set up by international aid agencies or governments, or fortunate to be taken to hospital, the lack of financial help places further stress on them.
Jordan houses nearly 3 million refugees, of which 630,000 are Syrians who have fled the conflict in their nation.
It's estimated that on average 30 babies are born every day to Syrian refugee women in Jordan and a further 40 born every day into Syrian refugee families in Lebanon.
For many, it is nearly impossible to cover the cost of delivery in a hospital.
Global Ehsan Relief with the help of our international NGOs will be providing expecting mothers with everything they require for a safe birth.
Through the ‘Birth’ programme, we will be covering hospital and delivery costs and immediate aftercare costs such as sanitary items, baby clothes, food and items needed for both mother and child
In the unfortunate circumstances where a new-born or mother requires further care, we will do our best to provide this. At present, many women are forced to give birth at ‘home’ – even in makeshift tents - due to financial restrictions and in circumstances which are unsafe for mother and child.
Many women are also unable to use hospital facilities, as they are unregistered refugees. The infrastructure in Jordan and Lebanon has been stretched to almost breaking point, due to the daily influx of thousands of refugees.
With the help of our supporters, we want to help as many of these mothers as possible to safely give birth, to know that their new-born arrives into this world in a safe and caring environment.
We want to establish a system which can support existing medical infrastructure and facilities, and develop a new one that caters to the needs of thousands of women and children.
