Although the United Nations had issued a statement calling on both countries to resolve their political issues peacefully while respecting human rights in the region, many of the Kashmiris are still cut off from their access to basic necessities such as food and medical aids.

Dozens killed in Pakistan-administered Kashmir from quake

CCTV footage shows the moment an earthquake shook northern Pakistan leaving people running out of buildings. The magnitude 5.8 quake struck 14 miles (23 km) north of Jhelum in Mirpur, a town on Pakistan's side of the disputed territory of Kashmir. At least 20 people are believed to have been killed and hundreds more injured. Buildings and homes have collapsed and cracks in the roads large enough to swallow cars have scarred the area.
