How Your Qurban Reaches the Forgotten in Cambodia

Every year, Global Ehsan Relief delivers fresh Qurban meat to the communities most in need.

Just last year, our Global Ehsan Relief team oversaw the Qurban of nine cows and five goats in rural communities in Cambodia. Villagers from Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom provinces were gifted with fresh Qurban meat during Eid ul-Adha. More than 1,725 Cambodian, including students, had benefitted from your Qurban! The Qurban meat did not only provide nourishment to the poor families, it also gave them a reason to smile and be happy on Eid itself.

Fadilah, staff member from Global Ehsan Relief Cambodia said: “Alhamdulillah we are really thankful to the donors for your never-ending support for us. May Allah S.W.T. bless you and give you rahmah, barakah and blessings.”

To make it to the O-sen Jom Village, our team had to travel on a modified truck and a wooden raft as the village is located away from urban areas. Unfortunately, the road that led to the village was in terrible condition, left muddy and flooded due to the rainy season.

It was a truly unforgettable experience due to the fact that the destination was an isolated village with a rough road and we had to cross the creek. After traversing the creek, we were faced with a flooded road that was impossible to traverse by vehicle. To overcome this obstacle, we loaded our motorbikes onto a raft and continued our journey,”

The Qurban preparations and distributions were done right in front of our waqf mosque, Masjid Bidah Unang which had just opened its doors to congregants a few months before Eid ul-Adha 2022.

Many of the villagers shared their gratitude and happiness in receiving the Qurban meat.

“I’m really happy that the donors of the masjid have provided us with this Qurban. The villagers in my village are very poor as they don’t even have access to electricity. In addition, the road conditions are bad. It is the rainy season and the road is covered in flood and no one delivers Qurban to my villagers, but only Global Ehsan Relief does. They brought us three cows. I really appreciate this kindness. May Allah S.W.T. bless and inspire them to bring more Qurban to our villages in the following years,” Hasanah, villager of O-sen Jom village.

Another villager shared: “I am Abupakert, living in O-sen Jom Village. I would like to thank GER for delivering Qurban from the donors to my villagers. Since the road leading to this village is in terrible condition, the GER team who visited our community had to take a raft to get here. Thank you for your kindness.”

This Eid ul-Adha, we hope to serve more individuals in the community and feed more people. We invite you to perform your Qurban with us, where you can choose from 35 countries worldwide.

Your Sacrifice, Their Blessings.
