For many of our sponsored orphans, their lives are changed for the better with just a sponsorship. Living in poverty and struggling with challenges, these orphans and their widowed mothers are forced to live life modestly, most of the time grappling with financial challenges.
With more than 900 sponsored orphans in Sri Lanka and Aceh, Indonesia, our teams have personally seen the impact of our sponsorship on our orphans – especially in their education!
Below, we share some stories of our orphans’ achievements that have made us all very proud.
Ghaziya Hafiza is a 9 year-old girl who is currently attending elementary school. She is a highly curious student, with broad insight and always tries her best in everything.
On February 26th 2023, she won 2nd place in an inter-class quiz competition held at her school.
Ulfa Mahera is an orphan who has been receiving assistance from Global Ehsan Relief since 2021. She is now 15 years old, with extraordinary abilities in the field of literature. She is very good at reading and expressing the meaning of the Qur’an. She is also able to read the Qur’an melodiously.
In March 2023, she accomplished 1st place in the Syahril Al-Qur’an performance and 3rd place in the Tilawatil Al-Quran competition that took place at the village where she lives.
Syarif is a clever 10 year-old boy who has a calm persona.
In March 2023, he simultaneously took part in two competitions held between sub-districts: the Tahfizh and Islamic Speech Contest and surprisingly, emerged champion for both, masyaAllah!
These are just some of the achievements of our orphans that have shown their dedication, perseverance and tenacity in pursuing their education.
